At SLA Medical, one of our most memorable journeys involved a patient suffering from severe rosacea, a complex and often misunderstood skin condition. When she first came to our clinic in 2017, her face was covered with inflamed, red, and tender rosacea, affecting 90% of her skin. For over 20 years, she had lived with this condition, avoiding public spaces due to embarrassment and discomfort. She had never received proper treatment or skincare guidance before visiting us.
This case stood out not only because of the severity, but also due to the emotional impact it had on both the patient and our team. Despite initial uncertainty around the likelihood of success, Nurse Sarah Louise recognised an opportunity to change a life. Driven by the desire to restore this woman’s confidence and allow her to walk in public without hiding, we began a treatment plan using AlumierMD peels.
Over the course of her journey, she received a total of ten AlumierMD peels, spaced six weeks apart. The results were more than skin deep—they were transformational. Her redness, inflammation and discomfort were dramatically reduced, and her confidence grew with every visit. While financial remuneration was not a factor in this case, the reward came in the form of a powerful transformation and a renewed quality of life for our patient.
This case reminds us that in aesthetics, our work isn’t just about appearance—it’s about restoring dignity, comfort, and self-esteem. It also showcases the power of consistent, medically guided treatment and the difference it can make when done with the right care and expertise.
